About the author

Phyllis McGinley was an American poet known for her light verse, mostly about American suburban life. Jacques Barzun referred to her as “a feminine Horace in the midst of junior executives and advertising copy writers.” Her collection Times Three won the 1961 Pulitzer Prize for Poetry.
